Excerpt from the book Shamanic Tools, a living systems guide for professionals

“Every enterprise carries the subtle breath of a creative Spirit—a living presence—waiting to be recognized, honored, and listened to.”

Have you ever encountered soul loss in an organization; moments when your clients feel unmotivated, drained of meaning, or even traumatized by their professional journey? Perhaps you wish to help them rediscover their vital energy and bounce back.

In my therapy practice, I guided clients to restore harmony between their body and their Soul. Once that reconnection was complete, a new need often arose: to live their true nature in the world—in relationships, creativity, and in their work. Yet so often, the organizations they worked for left no room for the creative expression of their talents.

For some, Soul expression doesn’t come through paid work; it might unfold in a hobby, a cause, their relationships or simply a way of being. But for others, it lives at the heart of their profession.

One day, as more clients questioned their alignment between Soul and work, a friend named Philip came to share his own inner conflict. His position as director no longer nourished him. The projects he managed felt empty of meaning. Yet he had discovered an ecological patent for boat paint and wanted to present it to the investors committee in order to create a new company around that product. Working in this capacity felt more aligned with his desire to preserve nature.

This struck me deeply: here was another sign of dissatisfaction in the corporate world, paired with a creative impulse to provide service to Life and Nature. Philip was open to shamanic work, and I felt a strong call from the Spirits—they wanted to teach me through this situation. Thus began my apprenticeship with the Spirit of Enterprises.

Meeting the Spirit of Enterprises

During a shamanic journey, I asked for guidance about Philip’s project. I was led to a vast Spirit who introduced himself as the Spirit of Enterprises — an expert in the life of organizations and projects.

To illustrate his teaching, he showed me an enterprise which was cut off from its Spirit. The Spirit appeared as a great giant, lying down, unable to stand because one leg was wounded by lack of recognition. Around him, people ran in all directions, unaware of him and disconnected from each other, the company’s direction, and its true strength. Because no one saw or honored this Spirit anymore, the organization had weakened—like a wheel missing its hub, unable to hold its spokes and move forward.

The Spirit explained that each enterprise exists to serve society and the needs emerging within it. To do so, it “hires” people whose creative purpose resonates with its own. The enterprise helps them develop their gifts and skills. Within this shared field, each person grows, eventually contributing to the living ecosystem around them.

In ancient times, this Spirit of Enterprises was recognized and honored by guilds. Certain cultures continue this practice today, but in the Western world, this connection has largely been forgotten.

When I asked for guidance on Philip’s project, the Spirit brought me to a luminous blue field. It was the Spirit of the Project itself, seeking human collaborators aligned with its purpose—to create products dedicated to preserving the oceans. It showed me its meaning and even its name, L.O.S. Products — Life and Ocean Saving Products. The Spirit of Whale accompanied it as guardian.
I shared this with Philip. Though skeptical, he included the name L.O.S. Products among four options for presentation to board —and it was the one unanimously chosen. Its vibration and clarity were felt by all.

Philip developed the new company, though progress was slow. At first, he distributed non-ecological brochures for cost reasons—and few results followed. When he aligned with the Spirit’s request for recycled paper, his booth was suddenly flooded with visitors, so much so that he didn't have enough brochures for all those who wanted these products!

ut the LOS Spirit also demanded Philip's alignment with ecology in his personal life. Although he had not yet known organic food, he proceeded to adopt it. It was a demanding Enterprise Spirit, but each time Philip listened to it, there was an unblocking of a situation: after applying the Spirit's requests and putting order in his personal life to be more aligned with his soul, to his great surprise, Philip was contacted by an ecology celebrity to support his project and he obtained a meeting with the ministry of the environment, with a subsidy proposal.
For two years before this, he had tried in vain to interest them in his product…!

Through this, I learned that the Spirit of Enterprises teaches the people it collaborates with—a form of creative love arising from the invisible world to guide evolution and healing.

But when humans lose connection to Nature, to all Life and their Soul, they may interpret it in their limited way, which is not always in accordance with the flow of Life.

Since then, I have looked at enterprises and professions differently—through their Spirit. When that Spirit awakens, creativity and purpose flow again, and work regains its true meaning.

You see there are several dynamics to consider:

  • The connection with the Spirit of the Enterprise
  • The professional's alignment with their values and soul
  • How to respond together to the needs of society and the territory in which the enterprise works

Shamanic Practices for Organizations

In shamanic vision, all areas of life are interrelated. This approach naturally extends to groups, projects, and organizations. For centuries, shamans and sages have been consulted to guide enterprises, communities, and even politics. They communicate with the Invisible Web to reveal what resources are needed for growth, conflict resolution, or the healing of collective trauma.

Giving the Spirit of Enterprise its rightful Place

Several shamanic tools can support this work:

Shamanic journeying
If you practice shamanic journeying, for yourself or at a client’s request, you can connect directly with the Spirit of the Enterprise. Ask it what it needs? What resources are missing? What past events require healing? Who or what needs to be included for balance to return?

Representing the Spirit

You can also represent this Spirit symbolically—through an enterprise altar, totem, or collective artwork expressing its values and essence, and feel where to place it at work so it can be seen. Sometimes, retracing the company’s history and the needs it was created to serve helps the Spirit be seen and honored again.

Constellations from the Living Field for Organizations

I could contact this Spirit through shamanic journeying, but I wondered how I could present this reconnection to professionals and organizations who don’t practice shamanism.
To bring this work into the professional world, the Spirit of Enterprises guided me toward systemic constellations — a method that represents parts of a system through people or objects to reveal its hidden dynamics.

So, I trained in organizational constellations at the Hellinger Institute in the Netherlands and then expanded the method to include Nature’s missing resources, the Soul of individuals, and the Spirit of the Enterprise. This changes the entire breathing of the systems observed. Placing them in the flow and reality of the principles of the Living world restores vitality, meaning and coherence faster and more easily than the usual approach of constellation work.

This practice of representing the enterprise and the problem addressed speaks directly to the participants: they can see and feel in their body when something is missing or out of place, and when the life flow returns. It awakens the body’s innate systemic intelligence.

Nature is essential here. It knows how to support life, how to digest and compost the past to create fertile soil for new growth and projects. Shamanic Constellations of the Living Field flowed from this understanding, and now I teach it to professionals.

Every professional should be able to meet and communicate with the Spirit of the Enterprise they serve — whether as an employee, entrepreneur, or consultant. This deepens understanding of the professional connection and fosters conscious collaboration.

Alain, the director of a management training firm shares : "I knew nothing about shamanism, but I quickly discovered the concrete interest of connecting to the Spirit of Enterprises: I use constellation work to prepare for an important meeting, or to make a commercial proposal. I connect to the Spirit of the Enterprise in which I must intervene to be more attuned to its real needs. I adjust my proposals, and it works."

When the Spirit of an Enterprise seeks to be heard

At times, phenomena such as excessive competition, defamation, or high turnover may reveal a lack of regard for the Spirit of the Enterprise. This could then express itself through the reactions of employees, the environment, or even clients.

When this Spirit — the fundamental dynamic for the coherence and vitality of the system — is neglected, it will seek to realize itself through other people, organizations, or initiatives that honor its purpose.

In such cases, the founder or owner is a guardian of the enterprise’s purpose; they do not have claim to it. The Spirit will naturally go toward those who ‘love’ it best, and align with its direction, meaning, and intention.

Soul Loss in Organizations

Soul loss doesn't just happen to individuals — it happens in organizations and careers too. Sometimes the shock or numbness is such that nobody even notices. The system, or part of it, just feels flat, like it’s merely surviving.

When the same issues keep resurfacing despite all efforts to resolve them, or when people’s talents and potential no longer shine through, it often points to an unresolved trauma within the system.

When there have been layoffs, major losses, or visible accidents in a company, the cause of trauma is easier to identify. But sometimes, the wound goes way back — buried deep in the organization's collective memory. Even if the people working there are not aware of it, the system remembers.

Systemic constellations allow these hidden patterns to surface. Each part of the organization — leaders, employees, products, even money — can be represented to reveal the interactions and forgotten stories that shape the system. This brings to light the missing resources and frozen talents, thus inviting the chance for healing.

The work begins by setting a clear intention
What do you want to recover or bring back to life?
What needs to become more alive, and for what purpose?
Is it to develop a new service or way of working, to shift direction, or to welcome a new collaborator into a role where difficulties have repeatedly surfaced...?
